Pressed Nova tablets
Genuine-source tablets were consistently light but noticeable pink and carried a small crown press. The crown later became iconic enough that counterfeit producers began copying it.
Genuine-source Nova developed a recognizable visual identity: pale-pink powder and pale-pink pressed tablets carrying a crown mark. That history is useful for documenting Nova culture. It is no longer sufficient to prove authenticity.
Counterfeiters copy colors, shapes, crown stamps, and presentation. NION does not consider a photograph, pill color, stamp, or seller claim capable of confirming that an unknown substance is genuine Nova.

Genuine-source loose Nova was characteristically pale pink. Shade and texture could vary somewhat, and visual similarity is not sufficient for identification.
The earliest crown press was introduced to distinguish one known Nova supply from unrelated tablets circulating in the same social scene. It worked only while the mark was unusual and associated with one source.
Once “pink crown” became synonymous with Nova, the symbol became easy to imitate. NION therefore treats the crown as a piece of Nova history and community iconography—not an authentication method.
Counterfeit tablets have appeared in inconsistent shapes, colors, textures, and crown designs. Some are obviously unlike historical Nova. Others deliberately imitate genuine pale-pink crown tablets closely.
Counterfeit powder is commonly reported as dark pink, light purple, light blue, or white—though counterfeits can also be produced in pale pink specifically to imitate the genuine-source appearance.
NION’s Counterfeit Watch archive can flag recurring visual patterns—unusual colors, copied crown designs, inconsistent presses, or clusters of adverse reports. Those reports are useful for recognizing trends, but they do not turn visual inspection into certainty.
